1.1 پس منظر / Background

اسلامی روایت میں “العین” یا “نظر” کا تصور ایک ایسا موضوع ہے جس پر نہ صرف عوامی سطح پر شدید اعتقاد پایا جاتا ہے بلکہ روایتی علماء نے بھی اس پر تفصیل سے گفتگو کی ہے۔ یہ تصور عام طور پر ایک ایسی غیر مرئی طاقت کے طور پر پیش کیا جاتا ہے جو حسد یا شدید توجہ کے نتیجے میں کسی شخص، شے یا جانور کو نقصان پہنچاتی ہے۔ عوامی تاثر میں، نظر ایک مافوق الفطرت اثر ہے جو انسان کی جسمانی، ذہنی یا معاشرتی کیفیت پر اثر انداز ہو سکتا ہے۔

In Islamic tradition, al-ʿAyn (the gaze or evil eye) has been widely regarded as a supernatural force capable of causing harm to people or objects through intense envy or admiration. It is not only a matter of cultural belief but has also been discussed by classical scholars in hadith literature and theological discourse.
